We were invited to submit a design for the Summer Playground Festival at The Opera House. The theme was Coney Island 1950s and there were numerous interesting considerations to negotiate including harsh wind conditions, (understandably) rigorous heritage constraints and a very strict colour scheme. We worked collaboratively to devise a vibrant area for kids and families to play imaginatively together and enjoy the free festival programming on the outdoor stage.
Barnacle Studio practices in the land of the Wodi Wodi peoples of the Dharawal nation. We acknowledge the traditional (first custodians) of this country where our projects are made, and where these materials come from. We recognise their continued connection to land and waters, culture, past, present and future generations.
