One of those streets with a run of red brick, red tile, almost-the-same cottages sitting on the high side like a row of magpies on a wire. The design left the streetfront untouched and added on to the back with a modernist nod to a previous generation. Exposed structure, courtyards, voids, old wood, green roofs, old kitchens and brick islands. This is the product of an all-in, roll-your-sleeves-up type owner-builder extravaganza.
Barnacle Studio practices in the land of the Wodi Wodi peoples of the Dharawal nation. We acknowledge the traditional (first custodians) of this country where our projects are made, and where these materials come from. We recognise their continued connection to land and waters, culture, past, present and future generations.
